SENIOR MAINTENANCE MANAGER

SUMMARY:

 

The Senior Maintenance Manager performs a variety of duties related to the preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of assembly, test equipment, and facilities including assisting with the mechanical, electrical, and production systems of the equipment.  This position supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Work with other departments to evaluate and resolve technical feasibility, develop processes, and production optimization.
  • Direct workers and work loading engaged in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.
  • Ensure maintenance compliance under FDA, current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and TGA standards. 
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and schedule routine maintenance to maximize team member effectiveness.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Manage team member performance using the prescribed processes and tools to promote individual accountability and achieve business goals/objectives.
  • Routinely interact with operations leadership team members to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Responsible for parts inventory control inventory value and inventory accuracy.
  • Establish and manage department and project budgets.
  • Provide technical support; including, troubleshooting, modification, and creation of maintenance programs.
  • Identify and implement safety equipment to ensure machinery is safe to operate.
  • Perform maintenance following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and in support of maintenance and production schedules.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

  • 10+ years' manufacturing maintenance experience or combination of education/training and experience. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical Associates Degree in related discipline (Industrial Maintenance) is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Safety minded associate with a strong safety record.
  • Working knowledge of cGMP guidelines and FDA requirements for producing nutritional supplements.
  • Proven track record in management of maintenance employees including hiring, training and development, and mentoring. 
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, leadership, customer service, attention to detail, and project management skills. 
  • The ability to make decisions, problem solve, prioritize assignments, and direct the workforce independently in a dynamic, ever-changing, warehouse environment. 
  • Experience with maintenance management systems software and Microsoft Office skills, specifically Outlook and Excel. 
  • Excellent relationship building and communications skills.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Ability to stand and move around for the entire shift (8-10 hours+ per day; usual schedule is M-F, starting at 6am-8am).
  • Frequent and repetitive: bending, crouching, stooping, and reaching throughout entire shift.
  • Occasionally lift 75-100 pounds, frequently lift 50-75 pounds.
  • Ability to work in warehouse condition; little heating or cooling.
