CORPORATE ACCOUNTANT

ASEA is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Corporate Accountant to join our team. SUMMARY:

The corporate accountant assists the team in fulfilling the responsibilities of the ASEA financial function. These functions include planning, accounting and reporting, compliance, and audit defense. The successful candidate will have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the accounting field and also have an overall understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This position offers an exciting opportunity to work extensively on domestic and international issues that support the function for a growing multinational company.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Update general ledgers, journal entries, accounts, and financial reports.  
  • Partner with the finance team in the reconciliation of accounts. 
  • Maintain records and oversee the preparation of sales tax returns, VAT/GST returns, related schedules and reports. 
  • Support the international accounting function for all of ASEA's international subsidiary companies.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel. 
  • Assist the accounting department in the planning and audit defense functions as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • BS/BA degree in accounting.
  • 1-3 years' experience in public or corporate accounting.
  • International accounting experience preferred. 
  • Ability to work both independently and with team members with minimal supervision. 
  • Experience with the GAAP reporting practices.
  • Ability to work well and communicate effectively with third party accounting professionals.
  • Familiarity with the internal revenue code and other regulatory research resources a plus.
