ASEA is looking for a talented and enthusiastic VP of QA & Research to join our team. The Chemist / Science VP is responsible for supporting all product activities at the facility. The role includes assuring the integrity and quality of the products, responding to regulatory inquiries, compliance to cGMP, Food Safety and Audit requirements, and for the technical aspects of product production.  Also, will work on development for ASEA's line of nutritional and dietary supplements.


This position reports directly to the Chief Operations Officer (COO).




  • Provide scientific understanding of ingredient functionality and review safety information for ingredients.
  • Help drive innovation in various nutritional areas and work closely with R&D to create new and improved nutraceutical products.
  • Resolve a broad range of regulatory, scientific, and technical issues concerning product legal application to government bodies and international counterparts.
  • Work with local authorities and counsel around the world to determine regulatory consideration in specific situations.
  • Work with relevant departments within the company including Quality, Product Development, Marketing, Regulatory and Legal to support the business.
  • Present scientific findings internally to cross-functional teams and senior management.
  • Keep up-to-date with innovations in nutritional raw ingredients and understands extensive raw ingredient information.
  • Responsible for analytical testing required during product batching, such as contaminant analyses, micro testing and stability studies. Help interpret analytical testing results and stability studies.  
  • Closely works with QC and QA to comply with cGMP during product batching and development.
  • Act as a contact for contract lab testing, including identifying and resolving any issues.
  • Participate in cGMP audits of the facility, supporting QA management during internal and external audits.
  • Other duties as assigned.




  • Masters' or PHD degree required (or BS with 5+ years direct experience) in chemistry or closely related field.
  • Experience in a cGMP dietary supplement, pharmaceutical, food, or other chemistry environment required.
  • Extensive experience and proven success in collaborating with laboratory science and testing laboratories to meet or exceed product requirements.
  • Working knowledge of supplement manufacturing, Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) as well as related quality protocols.
  • Extensively networked with raw ingredient suppliers, product development contract manufacturers, and testing laboratories.
  • Working knowledge of chemistry and analytical chemistry.
  • Able to trouble-shoot and address formulation issues and awareness of special product requirements, such as non-GMO, kosher, halal, and vegan.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage completion of multiple tasks/projects.
  • Experience with Direct Sales, MLM, or Network Marketing industry a plus.
